South Punjab Region

Social Development Organization (SDO), Pakistan had the honor to host Madam Kashfa Butt, Representative of Muslimehelfen Germany, during her official visit to Pakistan from 10th July 2026 to 12th July 2026. The purpose of the visit was to observe the ongoing humanitarian and development initiatives being implemented by SDO in different districts of South Punjab, interact with beneficiary communities, review completed projects, and strengthen the partnership between Muslimehelfen Germany and SDO Pakistan. Day 1 (Field Visit to Kot Addu, Dera Ghazi Khan & Rajanpur) Friday, 10th July 2026 The tour commenced early in the morning from Multan. The SDO team, accompanied by Madam Kashfa Butt, first visited Basti Sheikhan, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, Kot Addu at approximately 8:00 AM. During this visit, the delegation interacted with local community members and observed the socio-economic conditions of the rural population. After the visit to Kot Addu, the delegation proceeded towards Dera Ghazi Khan and reached the historic and rural area of Sakhi Sarwar at around 12:00 Noon. The team remained there for nearly two hours, where discussions were held regarding the needs of underserved communities, access to basic facilities, and possibilities for future humanitarian interventions. In the afternoon, the delegation traveled to Fazilpur, District Rajanpur, and visited the mountainous areas i.e. Haji-pur, Laal-Garh, Lundi Sayadan, Marri, where SDO, with the support of Muslimehelfen Germany, has installed 10 prefabricated shelters for vulnerable families. The team inspected several shelters between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM and met beneficiary families who shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for the support provided. The visit highlighted the positive impact of the shelter project in providing safe and dignified living conditions to families residing in remote hilly areas. After completion of the field activities, the delegation returned to Multan late in the evening. Day 2 (Field Visit to Bahawalpur District & Cultural Heritage Sites) Saturday, 11th July 2026 On the second day, the delegation departed from Multan for Och-Shareef District Bahawalpur. The team visited various rural villages including Chenab Rasoolpur, Village Bhagla, Nalka-Adda, Mouza Sarwar-abad, Mouza Bakhri, Mouza Rato Naharan-wali, where SDO is assessing community needs and exploring opportunities for future development projects. Meetings were held with local residents, and discussions focused on issues related to housing, water, education, Chil Laborer School, livelihood, and social welfare. Later in the day, the delegation visited the historic Derawar Fort, one of the most significant landmarks of the Cholistan Desert. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the cultural and historical heritage of South Punjab. In the evening, the delegation visited the renowned Noor Mahal, Bahawalpur, where the architectural heritage and historical significance of the region were highlighted. After completion of the visits, the delegation returned to Multan. Day 3 (Visit to SDO Office, Media Interaction & Shield Distribution Ceremony) Sunday, 12th July 2026 On the final day of the visit, Madam Kashfa Butt visited the Social Development Organization (SDO) Head Office, Multan, where she was welcomed by the management, staff members, volunteers, and community representatives. During the office visit, a detailed presentation was delivered regarding the organization's ongoing and completed projects, achievements, challenges, and future plans. Madam Kashfa Butt appreciated the efforts of SDO in serving vulnerable communities across South Punjab and acknowledged the dedication of the organization's team. The delegation also participated in a television interview with Rohi TV, during which discussions were held regarding humanitarian activities, community development initiatives, donor partnerships, and the importance of supporting marginalized populations. A special Shield Distribution Ceremony was organized at the SDO Office, where Madam Kashfa Butt attended as the Chief Guest. Shields and certificates of appreciation were presented to distinguished individuals, volunteers, and contributors in recognition of their services towards humanitarian and community development activities. Conclusion The three-day tour of Madam Kashfa Butt, Project Director of Muslimehelfen Germany, proved highly productive and meaningful. The visit enabled direct interaction with beneficiary communities, assessment of completed projects, understanding of local challenges, and identification of future areas for collaboration. The tour further strengthened the long-standing partnership between Muslimehelfen Germany and Social Development Organization (SDO), Pakistan, reaffirming the shared commitment to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities across South Punjab.
